January Happenings

Here's a very belated family Christmas picture...all in our pajamas.
We got a ton of snow a couple of weeks ago, and unlike Texas snow, it stayed for about 5 days.
X and Graydon got some good snow playtime in.
They made a snow man and the only thing I had for eyes and buttons were old hard prunes! When X said they needed to put buttons on the snowman, Graydon immediately thought "belly button." So he got a belly button instead of the traditional coat buttons! Here is Graydon "laughing" at the prune belly button (and baby carrot nose!).

He misses him now that he's melted. Although it wouldn't melt on a day like today. Yesterday we had freezing rain and everything is covered in a thick layer of ice. The schools have been closed for 2 days now and we won't get out of the freezing temperatures for 3 more days! The wind chill factor makes the outside feel like zero degrees, literally! We are holed up inside and are getting very stir crazy!

What's cuter than a 2 year old boy in ice skates?
A 2 year old boys in ice skates with his handsome daddy!
X found out that there was a free day at our ice skating rink and he was adventurous enough to want to try it out with Graydon. I'm glad he wanted to because it turns out that Graydon LOVED it. Of course, he held on to our hands the entire time.
Daddy swapped baby duty with mommy and let me out on the ice with Graydon. I forgot how much fun it is!
At one point Graydon was fighting me trying to let go of my hands. The crazy kid thought he could do it on his own!
In between our cold snaps we had a weekend of glorious 75 degree weather! So we went to the zoo and had a blast! (This was 3 days before our present ice covered wonderland!)
Graydon loved all the animals, but loved this jeep even more. He's a boy at heart.
Baby Case was a champ and loved the zoo as well. We got to try out our double stroller...which made us really feel like we have graduated into parenthood. I love this picture below of Daddy and Baby loving on each other (in the Gorilla habitat!).
We also played at the park everyday in the nice weather. Check out these five boys crammed into this car that has a capacity of two! They looked just like real men driving this thing.
Here they are checking the engine! Love it!
Warm weather, please come back! We miss you!

I can see the Hall family in Graydon's face more now. Such a cute little boy!
