Baby Case Update

I remember posting weekly updates of Graydon when he was a baby...how things have changed! Suddenly computer time is so rare and time slips by. Tomorrow Case will be SEVEN weeks. Crazy! He started smiling last week and we are having so much fun coaxing smiles out of him.

Here's the little man last week in his cute church outfit.

I have been able to get him down to one feeding at night, but I'm still totally sleep deprived (especially since my 4-hour blocks of sleeping are interrupted by his older brother periodically). We love having him in our family!!

He is a good baby and is already good-naturedly putting up with his older brother's antics. But it won't be too long before Case can give it back to G-man. He is going to be the "big" little brother. He is so much bigger than Graydon. Check out the stats:

Birth:
Case - 8 lbs 3 oz., 20.25 inches long
Graydon - 7 lbs 1 oz., 19.25 inches long

2 Weeks:
Case - 8 lbs 13 oz. (55%), 20.75 inches (57%)
Graydon - 7 lbs. 10 oz. (18%), 19.75 inches (15%)

1 Month:
Case-10 lbs 5 oz (58%), 21.5 inches (43%)
Graydon- 8 lbs 13 oz. (25%), 20.75 inches (22%)

Notice that at 2 weeks Case was the exact size that Graydon was at 1 month. So to that I say, "Graydon, get in your punches now because it won't be long until it's an even fight!"

And I shouldn't give the impression that Graydon is punching his brother; he just has rough love to give. Everything is about kisses, but sometimes he has to man-handle and grab Case's head in order to give that kiss. It's nothing that any 2nd child out there hasn't already experienced!

It's been so hard to keep Graydon off of him! For instance, I'm shocked that we got the picture below, because it quickly turned into the next picture below that!

Another example:

At least that one didn't result in tears, but alone time is non-existent here!

These are the only pictures I have with Case...and they are all the same pose and same setting...my couch. It's because I'm always taking the pictures and then I say to X, "please take a picture of me with Case so that we have it documented that I did hold him." And that inevitably leads to a posed picture on the couch...

Graydon "helping" to bathe Case. He had to have his own cloth in which to sponge-bathe the baby. I think I said the words "soft" and "gentle" at least 100 times in a tensed, high-pitched voice!

Graydon had to have his time in the spotlight and have his own sink bath. Crazy kid.
