Vampires and Werewolves

Okay, I can resist no longer...here's a post about the Twilight series (Janette, insert "nerd" right here and start laughing at me now!).

Why, oh why, do I love a book about a teenage girl in love with a vampire and who romps around with werewolves? Why do I now bring Edward and Bella up in casual conversation with my husband (who, thank goodness, humors me)? Why are women across the nation falling so quickly? I DON'T KNOW!!! But I do know that I am captain of Team Edward (come on people...Jacob? What are you thinking? I do like Jacob, but I can't respect the fact that he's blatantly trying to steal Bella away from the beautiful and romantic Edward).

If you are like me and are obsessed, leave me a comment with your thoughts...August 2008 seems so far away!

You know you're a book nerd when you have more than one post on your blog about the books you're so excited to read! And for anyone that cares, I do read grown up books too...not just Harry Potter and ones about vampire.

I think it's great you're a "Twilight" nerd. I finished "Eclipse" last week and it's crazy how much I like it. But it does mean I have more in common with my Mia Maids!! :) You know what's really nerdy? When I listen to the song "Set Fire to the Third Bar" (by Snow Patrol - really a cool song) and I think, "Hmm, song this works for Edward and Bella." I think that goes beyond "nerd" and goes into the "freak" section.
(PS - Sorry for the long comment!)

Haha...my sister introduced me to these books... I've read the first 2 so far. Unfortunately Eclipse has to wait, because I'm still finishing Harry Potter 7.

K, I've totally been "told" that I "must" read these books. If I remember correctly, this is the girl who graduated from BYU? Given that we share the same Alma Mater, I'll humor you all and pick up the first book........as soon as I get a chance.

Rachel is a nerd too, LOL!!! I'm laughing out loud at both of y'all and wondering what the heck is wrong with me all at the same time. Okay, okay, I'll buy the book. Or maybe I'll just come over and borrow yours.

BTW, I saw the invite to your Southern Living party last Thursday, today and I felt so bad. I totally meant to come. I'm turning into such a flake, Emily!! I'm so sorry. Can we please get together some night soon to sit around and eat chocolate and talk about all the books you've read? I'm so bummed that I missed your party. Sorry girl! HUGS!

(Rachel, you're not really a nerd, but I have to call you one, just to make myself feel better, lol)

Having two Rachels comment one right after another gets confusing. I'm glad that Durazzani has a pic (it's beautiful by the way)!

Rachel, I've thought so many times throughout my day, "I probably sounded be thinking about Edward and Bella right now. This is supposed to be normal life." So you're not alone.

Janette, I would LOVE for you to read these. I would even read them out loud to you if we both had the time. I'll get it to you when Stephanie is done with it. I'm sad you missed the par-tay, but it's completely understandable! Come over. I'm sure we can both find some misery to commiserate about together...with chocolate!

p.s. I'm not proof reading this!

Rachel D, can you get some scoop from your cuz on the 4th book?!? I'm sure the answer is no, but if I were you I'd suddenly become a very, very good cousin! (p.s. for others, Rachel's cousin in Stephenie Meyer, the author)

I'll see what I can do. I don't have a lot of contact with her, but if I do hear the scoop, you can BET you'll be the first one I'll pass it on to!

And Janette, I am a NERD. It's true. It's something I have finally come to accept in my life. Once a nerd, always a nerd! :)

Yay! I'm a big huge Edward and Bella fan. A nerd through and through! If you added up all the days I spent reading the books it would be less than 6 days for all three books, I just couldn't put them down!!! I even got my neighbor to read the first book and she got on Amazon and bought the next two, And let me read them first when they came! (by the way, if you order the hard back copy of New Moon it comes with tattoos and a poster, he he, my neighbor said she wanted to put the tattoo of Edwards name over her left um....well over her heart) I am hugely anxious for fall 2008, and I hope I find something else to distract me in the mean time...Like my husband and kids! And I must say, it is soooooooo cool that I'm like third person removed from knowing the author! (I think I just upped my nerdism with that comment) I really am normal.

Okay...so I'm done with Twilight! Janette, it's all yours. Hope you have a day to dedicate to it...because you won't be able to think about anything else. I LOVE EDWARD...and I'm not ashamed to admit it! I hope to be done with New Moon and Eclipse this weekend. You really, truly cannot put these books down!
