A busy month and one very proud moment!

We've had a whirlwind of a month, but have enjoyed it (most of the time).

It started out with my last day at HarborPoint Capital. Then, X got to experience his first real roller coaster ride of his life at Six Flags. Sorry for the blurriness. I'm chalking it up to the excitement in the air!
Pure childlike glee. He crammed in all the rides he could in one night!

Then we had our Oregon trip, which you can read about in the monstrosity of a post down below.

Then I started my new job with a business trip to Bethesda and got stranded in the airport Thursday night as all flights were cancelled out of D.C due to weather (a.k.a it sprinkled that night!). Thanks to Katie Turner (old BYU roomie) for picking me up and letting me have a sleep over with her! It was fun!

I've really like my new job so far. It's kept me really busy, which is the opposite of my experience in the past few months of closing down shop at HPC. I'm working with an old co-worker of mine. We keep each other laughing and we've fallen right back into the same working groove we had before.
X's parents joined us this past weekend for X's FINAL graduation celebration: the ceremony. We know that this has been dragged out as long as humanly possible:
1. Party in December for finishing classes and just having clinicals left.
2. Hip Hip Hooray for X getting a job in April.
3. Party in May for being done with school (classes and clinicals) and for starting a real job.
4. Celebratory trip to Europe in May (I use the excuse that it was for graduation, but who are we kidding here?)
5. HUGE, MASSIVE relief with passing the boards in July.
6. And finally, the graduation ceremony in August.

So we apologize to our friends and family who have had to endure long, drawn out celebrations and to you blog readers who have had to endure reading about them. Since this is our family journal, you'll just have to deal with it one more time for posterity's sake!!

I was so darn proud of my boy! We had a great time having our friends and family celebrate with us. X was one of the few in his class that graduated with honors. The ceremony was perfect: short, sweet, and only an hour!
Since I paid for his education, I felt worthy to wear the cap!
If you are wondering where my mom is, she was home in bed with the highly contagious strep throat! What horrible timing! We missed you mom and hope you enjoyed the comfort of your own bed!

The proud parents! (Very orange, huh? I guess it's the UT part coming out in the school)
Thanks to the Nguyens for being like family and wanting to come sit through the ceremony and celebrate with us! Also thanks to the Brigmans who managed to sneak out of any pictures.

Am I allowed another proud moment? Notice the lei that X is wearing? Yeah, we made that! I knew that X would like to have one, but Dallas isn't so much abounding with capable lei makers and the $50 shipping from Hawaii was too much for me! So Kendra and I made it ourselves (with the help of Tara, Kristy, and Ethan and Nora of course - who used the carnation stems as swords!). It's actually super easy and anyone could do it. So the next time you need a lei, try it for yourself! It was fun and made me happy to see him wearing it! Ethan was also very, very proud! Cool, dude!

So I think life is somewhat normal for the next few weeks. Let's hope so anyway!
