Canton Trade Days

On Saturday X and I decided that we needed to "get out of town" and do something that didn't involve something that we HAD to do. With our house closing next week, we've been stressed out with so many little things, so we wanted to do something fun.

For those of you from DFW, you'll understand the craziness that is Canton Trade Days. For everyone else, it is the biggest flea market/swamp meet/pet store/junk yard in existence (probably not, but it's big enough to get lost in). It's about an hour and a half from Plano and is out in the country. It's made up of outdoor vendors and a weird conglomeration of buildings. Seriously, you can find anything there. From frilly, girly purses to plugs for your kitchen sink...with everything in between, including this random vintage ice cream see saw.

Where to people get these things? Check out the other random stuff in the background!!

We were joined by Chris, Kristy, & Sammy and Brian, Kendra, Ethan, & Nora. We had a blast looking at all of the random stuff people will sell. And Ethan was pretty amusing himself. He told me that I wasn't strong and that X is, so he wanted to give X a "workout," meaning he wanted X to throw him up in the air! Ethan has the strongest little kid abs and spent half of the day dangling from X's arm! Check out "Sausage on a Stick" in the background! So funny!

I love X's face in that ice cream cone picture...I can just see the New Zealand accent coming out of his mouth. It's a classic.

You guys should have taken that ice cream thing home with you guys and put it in the back yard for your kids to play with. There's definitely some interesting things there.
