"And the Oscar goes to..."

...My Uncle!! Congratulations to my uncle, Allen Hall, for winning his 2nd Academy Award for Visual Effects in Pirates of the Carribbean: Dead Man's Chest. He does special effects (not with computers) and specializes in fire. He previously won for Forrest Gump and has been nominated for Backdraft and Mighty Joe Young.

The cool thing is that the announcer talked about my Grandparents as Allen and his colleagues were walking up to receive their award. They said, "Allen Hall's parents wanted him to be a doctor, and when he had to be evacuated during the filming because of Hurricane Wilma, they really wish he had!" They were filming in the Grand Bahamas when Hurricane Wilma hit in 2005 and had to be evacuated from the island.

Yeah for my Grandparents getting props at the Oscars!! It made my night. They were actually suppose to be there last night, but Allen couldn't get enough tickets. How rad would that have been for my Grandma and Grandpa to go to the Oscars!

He's the gray/white haired guy with a beard at the end of the line. He didn't get to talk at all...as well as the other two guys because the 1st one hogged it all! You can see a resemblance to my dad if you know my dad.

That's who I thought he was....so cool! And yes, the first guy was a major mic hog!

Ya, I saw him!! My dad was watching the academy awards while we were still eating dinner and he said, "hey, that's Miles Hall's brother!"
