Fall Happenings

The weather has finally cooled off enough for us to enjoy going outside! Hooray! Here we are enjoying the Dallas Arboretum and their awesome Fall Display.

Jump back two years ago and here we are. Wow.

Graydon now thinks it's ultra-cool to sleep on the floor just inside his bedroom door. We don't know what to do about this because the only thing to keep him in his bed is to tie him in (tempting some nights). Any tips? Usually it's not a problem, but lately he's been opening the door...making for a long night for us all. Am I horrible that we actually locked his door tonight? Does it make you feel better that he didn't cry when he tried to open the door?

The other day he came out of his nap, totally chill, with these two hats on his head. When I looked at him and made a big deal by laughing, he just acted like, "what, mom? I don't know what you're talking about!"

Graydon saw his daddy walking around after a shower with a towel wrapped around his waist. He tried it with his big hooded towel, which didn't work. Then I tied our hand towel around his waist. He honestly thought it was the coolest thing ever. And I'd have to agree.

Last month was the Plano Balloon Festival. We planned on going Friday night to the balloon launch...but it rained. So we went Saturday during the day, to find not one stinking hot air balloon (they are only there in the morning or at night). So we trekked back Saturday evening, only to get stuck in traffic and watch all the balloons drift over our car. So we chased some down in a field and got a good show. We walked up to one balloon that they were packing up and X knew them. So they let us touch the balloon and set the fire off (Graydon freaked out!). So overall, we had a great show!

And I got off on my photo records, by three weeks actually. So there has been quite a change from my 23 week belly that I last posted. Here I am at almost 30 weeks pregnant. I feel like the opposite of most women: I usually gain so much weight in the beginning (ugh!) and then taper off. I haven't gained but one pound in the last 6 weeks, but my belly is obviously getting bigger. I'm sure I'll pack on the pounds in weeks to come.
I never had leg cramps or a baby in my ribs with Graydon, but this baby is constantly jabbing the same spot on my right side. And I can't move 1 inch in bed at night without cramping in my calves and thighs. Any suggestions besides stretching and Tums with calcium? Probably not, maybe some sympathy then?

My doctor has already started monitoring me, because of my early dilation with Graydon. I have an appointment tomorrow morning, and I'm praying like crazy that it will be good news. If I dilate, I suspect she'll put me on bed rest, which will be a death sentence for us!!

Graydon is so cute, Emily. Congrats on the next little guy. Two boys are fun and Graydon will love having a buddy.

Oh, I hate sleep training just as much as I despise potty training. It will end. We have bribed our boys to stay in their beds. Chocolate milk in the morning worked for Matthew and Joshua gets stickers on his sticker chart for staying in bed.

I always get leg cramps while I am sleeping when I am pregnant. I found that potassium (bananas) and lots of water usually helped.

Good luck with the final weeks of pregnancy!

His dad loved camping out when he was young, he's now grown out of it mostly.

Those towel pictures are too cute for words. Seriously. And you look fabulous. I have no tips for the cramping. I think my sister had the same thing, but so far, I haven't. Calcium sounds about right to me - eat more ice cream!!!! :)
Anxiously waiting to hear if you are out and about or on bed rest. Update please! :)

You look good, and Graydon is cute as always! It's been a couple weeks since your last post, so I hope your doctor's appointment went well, and that you will not have to be put on bed rest. Best of luck for the rest of your pregnancy. Not too much longer (at least 9 weeks doesn't sound like a lot to me, but you're the pregnant one--and it probably sounds like an eternity)!
