The Little Things

I loved this post on my sister-in-law's blog and I figured I should do it too! A very sad story of a mother losing her child prompted her to say:

Take a minute for me tonight and record the little things your kids do rightnow. They don't even need to be cute things. Someday when your baby is grown you may even miss the food thrown on the ground or the face wiped on the sleeve. Cherish the little things. For the little things are the spice in life.

So here we go:

GRAYDON - 5.5 Weeks

*His arms freak him out. They get all excited and start flying everywhere. He still hasn't figured out that these crazy flying objects are his own appendages, so we have to hold them down for him or swaddle him. Otherwise he gets overexcited and starts to cry.

*He loves his pacifer. It helps us out and it calms him down. Daddy calls it a "dummy," which is an NZ term.

*From Day 1 he has tried to hold up his head. He is very good at it right now. He practices the most when he is over our shoulder getting burped. He looks so cute trying to be grown up.

*He also likes to stand up when he is getting burped. I don't even have to hold him up anymore when he is leaning against my body and you can feel his cute little defined calf muscle! He thinks he's a ten year old already.

*One leg gets all excited and starts going crazy while the other leg is very still. It looks like he is trying to kick start a motorcycle! Vroom Vroom!

*He has started to smile! He has always been very smiley in his sleep, but now he smiles at us and it melts our hearts. Today he got very smiley when we said "Mr. Stretchy Stretchy Pants." Go figure.

*He toots like nobody's business! They are loud...like adult man toots. One even woke X up from a dead sleep last night! These are most often accompanied by dirty diapers. We call these juicers.

Emily, Graydon has gotten so big so fast! He's so cute! And I LOVE your hair! It's very spunky. I like it! And I don't think I've seen your mom since girls camp about 20 million years ago and she looks fantastic! You have the cutest little family!
