Dad Wins This One

This sonogram picture is almost three weeks old now, but I don't think anything has changed! Check out our baby's chubby cheek in this picture! He's laying on his ear basically facing the "camera." You can see his dark lips and the cheek that sticks out further than anything else! I LOVE it!

If you remember X's newborn picture, he was quite the chubster, so I think Dad's gene won out there. It makes me happy because what else do you want on a newborn but chubby cheeks?

As an update, I'm 36.5 weeks. My doctor is laying off the bed rest...yay! She's letting me add some activity because I haven't progressed at all and we're entering the "Safe Zone" anyway.

The little guy had been breech all along and I could literally feel his head bouncing up and down underneath my sternum. To add to it, his legs were straight, so his head, hands, arms and feet all occupied the safe spot...under my ribs. But the last few days I think he has turned. Yippee! That makes us very happy because it means that we may not need a C-Section after all.

I was trying all the midwife tips of ice packs, heating packs, flashlights, and iPod headphones all on my belly. Whether it made him turn or not, it certainly made him dance like crazy! I had a classical song playing on my belly and then it went to a Timbaland R&B song. I think our little guy is going to a balla' because he definitely liked the Timbaland song more! Oh-uh.

Those are YOUR lips!!! And I seem to remember you having some pretty awesome cheeks in a picture I drew of you as a baby. He's you. Sorry, I don't see X. lol.

Hooray for chubby cheeks! They are the cuest thing ever on babies, especially when they start out with them as newborns!

Actually Janette, you do make a good point. I was quite the chubster too. I was thinking that there may be a chance that those lips are mine! There was a shot that we didn't get a copy of where he was pursing his lips and I totally thought they were mine! We shall see!

Hey, Emily, yay for the baby turning! That is great news. I can't believe you're at 36.5 weeks already. So it really could be any time now! Love the chubby cheeks that little boy!

Love the picture! It's amazing to be able to see so many features before he is here. And congrats on his turning. My friend stood upside down in a pool to get her baby to turn! Crazy. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait to see this little guy!

Congrats for making it this far!!! Just a little bit longer. I know you are probably ready to be done and meet the little guy, but, trust me, it is easier if he waits a little while longer. (Matthew was didn't have the sucking reflex since he was early and that made things VERY difficult, but Joshua has been quite easy comparably.) Good luck! I know things will go great. We are thinking of you and that cute little guy.

I'm so glad you are getting into the safe zone and don't have to be on bed rest as much. I'm sure that is not fun! What an exciting time. We are so happy for you and Xavier. Aren't ultrasound pictures the coolest? I bet you can't wait to see him in person!

YAY for turning!! I hear it's rather uncomfortable when they're this far along and they finally decide to get into position. I tried all the crazy things, too. But, Erin never budged and I have a scar to show for it. : ) Don't be afraid of a c-section. They're not so bad. I can't wait to meet the little guy and pinch those chubby cheeks!!
