32 Weeks...and Resting

***Update: I passed my fetal fibronectin test (which predicts with 99% accuracy that I will not go into labor in the next two weeks). I haven't progressed any further either, so now I'm on partial bed rest! Yay! So I'm still working from home and need to stay down for most of the day, but it gives me a little more freedom to take care of things. We need to keep the little guy cooking for a while longer!***

Thanks to my mom, we got this picture of me at 32 weeks before I was quickly vanquished back to the couch, where I still sit 24 hours later. That's because I am the lucky new winner of bed rest. Thanks to early dilation and effacement, I get to sit around all day and all night. It's really not as nice as I thought it could be, quite boring actually. I should have another update on Monday after another appointment. The little guy is quite all right, which is the main thing and we are thankful for that! X has rocked my world by waiting on me hand and foot and doing the deep cleaning I was planning on doing myself today. I hope for both of our sakes that this doesn't last too much longer!

p.s. I'm not "glowing" in that picture, it's just that all my make-up wore off by 11:00 pm last night.

I hope you can still make it to your shower on Thursday! lol. It could be a pretty lame party without you! lol.

Maybe this means that you'll have an EASY delivery. I'll cross my fingers for you!

Hey you! I was wondering where you were today! X said the closing prayer in Sacrament meeting. Funny...I had already bowed my head and closed my eyes before seeing who had walked up there. But the second I heard that voice...I just smiled and thought "X."

Anyway, I'm so happy about staying here in Allen (even with the wonderful tornadoes!). I wouldn't want to miss seeing your sweet baby for anything! And you are right...I can't imagine what your little guy will look like. But from my experience, even though YOU DO EVERYTHING for him, just get ready cuz he's gonna look exactly like X!

Take care! And good luck with bed rest. My sister-in-law has been on bed-rest (in and out of the hospital) for 6 weeks now. So I know how hard it can be from just watching and helping her. But it will ALL be worth it when you see that sweet face! I can promise you that.

Let me know if you need anything!

wow...that's tons-o-fun for ya! I remember when Natalie was on bed rest, I think she called me like 5 times a day just to talk about being bored. :) Sorry. You look great though! Enjoy your down time :)

I hope things get better for you. I know how frustrating bed rest can be. These silly little boys just can't be totally easy on their mommies. ;-) We are thinking of you and hoping that everything goes well. Pull out a craft project and enjoy your time before things get crazy with a newborn. And remember that every pregnancy trial is worth it for the sweet little guy.

I'm so sorry! I had to be on bed rest for Spencer and it is NO fun, because all you can think about is all the things you would like to do, but can't. Soon you'll be on the other end of the caretaking, though, so try to enjoy it!

Oh Emily - I am so sorry about the bed rest but you'll do great! Nothing matters but your sweet little miralce. Please let me know if I can do anything for you. The time is quickly approaching when you'll get to see his precious little face and you wont even remember the hard things. So great keeping up with you thru your blog! Take Care!

Okay, well that stinks you're on bed rest. I think I would go insane having to be still and at home all the time. But, I guess we do whatever we need to for these little ones huh? That aside, you look fabulous! I hope time will go quickly for you until the little guy can arrive healthily.

Hey Emily! Thanks for letting me in on your blog. I think you and X are great and I enjoy reading about your fun lives!

I loved your post "breed it like Beckham" and all the darling pictures. You raise some good points about what your little boy will look like. From my experience, the first baby looks like dad and the second will look like you! So there's hope.

Motherhood is wonderful and I always get so excited for any new young mother who is about to embark on the fabulous journey. You're in for all kinds of fun, stress, joys, frustrations, tender moments, annoying moments, and even sacred moments. Enjoy the ride.

Too bad Breaking Dawn isn't out yet (although that would only take up a few hours). But I hope you and Baby X (his genes will most likely prevail) are doing well.

How lame Em...bed rest would be so boring, but I'm glad that everything is okay with the baby and you. You look so darling! Can you believe it's coming up so quickly??

Bummer! Bed rest is no fun, but I'll tell you it's easier to do now than when you have another one so you may have that to look forward to. I'm getting anxious to see this cute little guy. Hang in their kiddo!
