Benefits of Pregnancy

Hey Guys, I've been wanting to do a Pregnancy Shout-Out for a while, listing the things I've enjoyed about being pregnancy or the things that have made life easier. But when work is giving me double the load that I normally would have, it's been hard to even check my email. But I've decided to carve out a couple of minutes.

#1 Super Nails. I've always had strong nails, but my index and middle fingers struggled a little bit and never got really long. Now, thanks to turbo hormones, they are growing like weeds! It's nice to get some benefits from the hormones that are raging through my body and reeking havoc on my physical and mental state!

#2 In a recent post I talked about Bella Bands. Oh, the joy that they are. If you are pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant, you MUST make the investment. The real brand, Ingrid & Isabel, can be expensive, but it is so worth it. I should be getting paid to make this post, but I'm that loyal of a customer to do it free of charge!

First you have Jill (18 weeks), holds up the pre-pregnancy jeans un-buttoned. Seriously, besides the wonderful suede khaki pants from Natalie (thank you from the bottom of my heart!) I am still able to wear my old pants to work. And it's not because I'm small or anything, it's just because of the goodness of the band. You just have to make sure your shirt is long enough to cover any unzipped zipper that may be showing! Embarrassing moment waiting to happen!

Then you have Nancy (25 weeks), holds up your too big maternity pants. And Kristen at 32 weeks and Joyce (post partum) who uses them to hold up pre-pregnancy pants before she's back to normal. You can even use them as a bra around the house.

Basically, you just need to get them. They're indisposable.

#3 La Yogurt - the first trimester was a wash for me when it came to foods. Nothing sounded good and I wished I could have been hooked up to an IV for sustenance so that I didn't actually have to eat. Now, I am enjoying flavors a little bit more.

That's where this yummy mexican yogurt comes into play. Anyone who is a yogurt fan will surely agree with me that this is the creamiest, most delectable stuff out there. And only Wal-mart carries the 6-pack Guava and Mango flavors. Even better, the guava actually tastes like guava!! Takes me back to Hawaii and it makes lunchtime that much better!

#4 - "Glowing." Why do people say pregnant women glow? We don't. Besides my loving sister Tara who will say whatever to make me feel better, the only people who tell me I am "glowing" are men. I figure that this is because they're not in tune enough with their feminine side to realize that I'm not glowing, I just have oily skin. Plus, I swear the only time they say I'm "glowing" is at the end of the day when I'm EXHAUSTED with bags under my eyes. That just adds to fact that they really don't know what "glowing" means. Anyone agree with me?

It's true, pregnant women glow! And about that guava yogurt, anything that has "SABOR LATINO" on the label is awesome!

I'm glad you're looking on the bright side and enjoying pregnancy. The second trimester certainly helps you feel happier because you're feeling better. You've always had gorgeous nails that have a natural French manicure look - lucky! I've never heard of "La Yogurt." I'll definitely have to try it because I'm a huge yogurt fan, esp when I was pregnant because it was ready-to-eat and so refreshingly yummy! You totally glow; its the happiness of the creating that's going on inside you. :)

I've never heard of that yogurt, but I will be checking out walmart to see if they have it here!

I found that another perk of being pregnant was that people were extra friendly... although I was always disturbed by the too friendly uninvited belly touch. Call me crazy but your post actually made me already miss being pregnant.

ps I love your growing bump! Oh and I'm probably going to be coming to TX the last week of Feb, maybe we can meet up!

Emily, you are such a cute pregnant girl! I wish I could look as cute as you during pregnancy! It is also great to hear that you are enjoying your pregnancy. Get lots of sleep now while you can. (I am in the third trimester and it is hard to sleep due to the big belly and an active little one.)
