I AM A NERD!!

So Friday night I was coming home from a "girls night game night" at a friends and thought to myself, "It's 11:45. Harry Potter comes out in 15 minutes. Do I go home? Or do I wade through the little witches and wizards to buy it now?"

That's when I found myself at Kroger's (a local grocery store), who was selling the book. I figured I could sleep in the next morning if I got it now. So when I got settled into the long line that wound through the store, I had a self-realization: I AM A NERD.

There I was, alone, a 25 year old, supposedly normal female, sandwiched between the produce section and the peanut butter aisle, waiting for some fantasy book to come out at 12:01 am. Yes, I am a nerd. So what do I do? Call up my sister Tara, a fellow nerd, to make myself feel better.

I'm proud to say that I got my book and was back in my car by 12:14. I only saw one witch (and I'm thinking she's the type that usually dresses like a witch). The funniest thing I saw were two teenage girls who came walking in wearing pillowcases, just like any house elf would, however on these girls it barely covered their behinds! But it was good for a chuckle!

Happy Reading!

I can't believe you went and got it!! It took me forever to fall asleep on Friday because I drank that DrP at like 11pm! hahahah. I love it. Glad you got your book. Glad you know you're a nerd. lol.

You've always been a book worm. I remember calling you on Saturday mornings in HS and you'd be in bed reading Nora Roberts or something like that....not to mention the LATE nights in college. You crack me up!

Oh, and I think my favorite part is that you had some strangers take your picture with your HP book! I'm laughing out loud right now. You're too cute!

Okay, I have to protect myself here. I've never read a Nora Roberts book and probably never will. And, what's better than sleeping in and then lazily staying in bed to read? It means you have nothing else to do! Freedom!

But yes, I did have the stranger in front of me in line take a picture, but I did it for Tara...mostly.

What was that series of books that you read in HS? They were sad...you always cried. I don't even know what Nora Roberts are, but apparently that's insulting. HA! Disclaimer...I do NOT read books! lol. There's nothing wrong with being a book worm though.

I have no idea what series it was. I'm sure you're telling the truth though. I think I've read several series that made me cry, but I can't really think of any right now.

p.s. I don't even know what Nora Roberts writes either, but I think they're icky romance novels, that's why I put in my disclaimer!

Don't leave any spoilers in the comments, or Kendra will be upset! :-)

At least you went and got it yourself! Steph was too sick to get up and get it so I had to go wait in line w/ all the nerds! :-)

Don't worry... I too am a fellow nerd. I love that you love Harry Potter too! Another series you should read is "Twilight" and "New Moon" by Stephenie Meyer. (Her 3rd book is coming out in Aug).Read that and then we can really talk!

How funny. If I had had access to a book store I probably would have been there at midnight too. Are you loving it? I just started.

I don't think you're a nerd. I would have done the exact same thing. I actually went to the book store on Friday thinking it was Saturday and tried to pick it up, but that obviously didn't work so I went back first thing in the morning on the real Saturday.
