We had a CRAZY thunderstorm cell move RIGHT through Ft. Worth and Dallas that was producing some pretty crazy winds and tornadoes. I got these pictures from one of the news sites in Dallas. Look at how green that sky is!!

I was watching the news channel after work watching this storm totally dump on Ft. Worth. On the radar screen there are these twirly circles that signal rotation activity and they were going crazy. My first thought was, "Gee I'm glad we don't live in Ft. Worth," only to remind myself that I have a husband who is currently working in Ft. Worth and had just gotten off work.
I started freaking out and had scenes from the movie Twister playing in my mind. X was racing the storm home and could see the storm following him in his rear view mirror. Fortunately traffic wasn't too bad and he was able to make it out of there. But it doesn't end there. We decided to meet at the temple and as I was leaving work the tornado sirens were blaring outside (meaning that everyone should seek shelter immediately). Did I go back inside like a smart girl? No! I decided that the temple was probably the safest place to be and I wanted to be with X, so we both decided to risk it and continue driving. What a tense 10 minute drive that was!
We get there in enough time to park our cars under trees before the hail started. We only saw grape-sized hail, but in parts of DFW there were baseball-sized hail! Crazy!
Anyway, we were watching the storm under the awning when we were told to hurry and get inside because they were evacuating everybody to the basement of the temple. They didn't even give me time to change into my church clothes, so I was walking through the temple in my jeans. I was horrified! But needless to say, everyone was fine and after about 30 minutes the storm passed and we were good to go. I am just so thankful that we had a safe place to go to and that we didn't have any damage! And to think that I normally love Texas thunderstorms!

Holy cow! So glad you're okay. Those were some amazing pictures and good for you for going to the temple...you'll be blessed I'm sure!
How freaky! I'm glad you guys are okay. I forgot about the storms they have there. They can get pretty intense.
OMGOSH! I'm still mortified that you walked through the temple in jeans. That was a crazy storm...it was fun to watch from where we are.
That's just crazy! What a memorable 13th. That would be pretty weird to be trottin' through the temple in your blue jeans, but at least there was no lightning to strike you down, just a baseball sized hail ball.
wow, I'm glad everything is ok now. That is crazy, Emily! I can't believe that hail the size of a baseball!! We had hail the size of a pea and I thought that was crazy :) hehe!
