Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Since I like to go with the family theme costume, I present to you: the Beckham Solar System. I am Mother Earth, X is Uranus, and Graydon is the Astronaut:
On Saturday we enjoyed the "Trunk-Or-Treat" at our church and got more candy then was necessary.
Since I had so many people ask in person, I'll tell you that I made the shirt. I cut each continent out of jersey fabric (following an atlas) and, yes, it was hard. My fingers were so sore afterward!

Graydon's costume did have a helmet, but he didn't like wearing it, as you can see:

Earlier in October we went to a pumpkin farm, fed the animals, and rode on tractors.

Graydon was totally looking forward to this part!

He was entranced by the tractor and the "farmer" who drove it. He kept saying over and over again (before, during, and after the ride), "Thank you Farmer! Thank you Farmer!"

Instead of looking at all the pumpkins, he kept following flies as they buzzed around. Definitely not a parent's ideal portrait of a trip to the pumpkin patch.

On Halloween morning we carved pumpkins as a family. This was the first time we did this with Graydon and he was in heaven. Look at that happy face!

He kept poking holes all over the pumpkin. Sadly, I didn't get pictures of the finished products and we just scrapped the sloppy leftovers off our porch and threw them away this morning.

My Mom and Dad threw the grandkids a Halloween party the Friday before. They totally went out of their way and made it awesome. There was yummy food, decorations, and games galore. Only because my Mom is beautiful and gets told all the time that there's no way she's old enough to be my mom, let alone a grandmother, I am posting this picture of her dressed up as an old lady (she'll kill me when she eventually sees it). It transformed her completely! I didn't know what to say at first! I think it's awesome. You go, Mom, getting into the Halloween spirit!
