I had all these things that Graydon does that I was going to add to a post so that I could remember them...and now as I sit here I can't remember them. I'll have to update it when I remember. I do recall one though:Driving in the car he was silent and then said out of nowhere, "I a little boy. I so cute!" Um, yes child, you are so cute. Do you think he's heard that a few times before?
He loves to have a family dance session where we dance like crazy to fun songs. He is starting to sing along with these songs, but it's funny because they are adult songs. Like "Say Hey." His favorite lyrics to sing are "But I know, one thing, that I love you. I love you, I love you, I love you." So we have quite a bit of fun. Another favorite is "Fire Burning" by Sean Kingston. He will do the splits to that song!!
He moved into his big boy bedroom (leaving the nursery ready for #2) without any problems. Let's hope all transitions go as smoothly as they have already!
He hates "sleepy time" right now and is going through a cry phase every time it's bedtime. Oh joy.
Graydon will be doing his own thing, and suddenly he'll find me and say, "No touch my diapers." Since it came from nowhere, I know immediately that he has pooped. Thank you child for informing me of this, even though your intention was to forbid me to do what I now must do...
While attempting to have him sleep in bed with us early one morning (which is never successful - he's to0 wiggly), he got a hair or some fuzzy in his mouth. After he spit it out, he said, "that was NASTY!" He says nasty all the time instead of yucky. I guess I must say it a lot.
He appropriately uses the phrase "Oh my gosh," with the correct voice influctions and everything. He always covers his mouth with his hand in "shock!"
He makes us make up songs about firetrucks, mixers, police officers, diggers, and dump trucks. We have one for each and he requests them everyday, and no, you will never hear them.
His school had a firedrill this week. When I showed up to pick him up, he was making the *perfect* fire alarm imitation. He would hardly speak actual words, but walked around the school making a fire alarm sounds for all the teachers. The look at his face was classic.
His little brother is still living in his belly button.
We sold our office desk chair to some guy on Craig's List. Graydon has never acted like there was anything special about that chair before. But he followed the guy out the door and in a very worried voice, yelled, "Oh no...mommy's chair. That man. Where go?" He was very concerned about my chair disappearing and I was so touched that he even noticed. He's my little watch dog.
While playing in the front yard an older Asian man slowly walked by. You know how sometimes they walk really slow...sauntering along with their hands behind their backs. Well, before I knew it, Graydon was following about 3 feet behind this man with his hands behind his back...kicking his legs out in front of him diagonally. Funny boy.
While looking at a picture of him and cousins smiling, he laughed and said, "look at me cheesing!"
This boy usually doesn't eat much, but every once in a while he gets starving and needs food NOW. This happened Saturday morning while doing errands. Not having anything to give him but the 15 teddy grahams that he already downed, I pulled over and got him an Arby's Roast Beef sandwich. He immediately started snarfing, then paused to say, most jubilantly, "Delicious!" A commercial could not have been scripted more perfectly. Best thing is, I never taught him that word, so it was a double shocker for me!
At my mom's house Nana and Graydon were petting the kitty Freckle. Graydon was petting the tail and really interested in it. He stood up, turned around, and asked Nana, "where is my tail?" When I was younger I really wanted a tail. I thought it would be so cool; so much to do with a tail! So my mom thought it was hysterical! Like mommy like son!
I see his little brain wheels turning all the time, always trying to figure things out. Like yesterday he discovered what the word "people" meant. He pointed at himself and said, "one people." Pointed at me, "one people." Then pointed at us both and said excitedly, "two peoples!" Pointed at the crowd around us and shouted "peoples!!" We'll have to work on the concept of plurality, but I love to see the lightbulb go off in his head.
