Laughter is the Best Medicine

Okay, I thought this was too funny not to share and since I'm in the mood to laugh, why not? (This is also inspired by Brian's monkey comment on the post below). I've been fighting a cold and I'm hoping that laughter really is the best medicine.

I usually try to be friendly with the deliver men at our work and try to ask them how they are doing when I see them. This is the conversation that occurred today:

Me: Hello. How are you doing today?
FedEx: Fine.
Me: Is it still muggy out there? [another bout of storms have rolled through]
FedEx: MONKEY? There's a monkey out there?! [in an alarmed, but serious voice]
Me: Monkeys?!? No! I said "muggy," like hot and humid.
FedEx: Oh. Okay.

Ha ha! This mishap may be due to the fact that I'm sick and all stuffy (no, not "stubby," stuffy.) and don't sound right, or the fact that English was not FedEx's first language. Either way, it really made me laugh and still is.

Did he really think the possibility of live monkeys was real? Wouldn't that be funny if monkeys really were roaming around in Dallas?

Ha ha! You should have just said, "Yep, there's a monkey, right...out...there--WAAAH!"

Seriously, I'm not sure why, but this whole thing puts me into a giggle-fit! If only you could have seen this guy. It would make it even better!

Next time ask him to pose for a picture....we need to see these things!! I love that "Monkey? There's a monkey out there?" It reminds me of the time Gary caught that cool bird that we had for a couple months. The bird ate so stinkin' many crickets that Gary finally ordered 2,000 crickets online and when FedEx showed up to deliver them....the guy handed me the box of chirping crickets like it was going to explode. I closed the door and laughed like crazy. Poor delivery guy. hahahahahahahaa.

Okay, so I read this post yesterday and then told Matt the story last night. I could barely get through it because I was already laughing. And then for about 15 minutes after telling him, I would laugh to myself and Matt would ask, "Are you laughing about the monkey again?" I obviously had fun with this...thanks for sharing!
